We are aware of scam emails currently circulating that claim you are entitled to a tax refund. These messages often ask you to click a link or provide personal or banking details.
Some of these scams are increasingly sophisticated and may appear to have been sent from Inland Revenue or even from us here at Eden Palmer Prewett. These emails are not legitimate.
Please be cautious of any message that:
Promises a tax refund you were not expecting
Asks you to click a link or open an attachment (except our document signing emails, and only then when you are expecting to sign documents)
Requests personal or banking information
Neither Inland Revenue nor Eden Palmer Prewett will ever ask you to confirm sensitive details or claim a refund via email.
If you receive a suspicious message, do not click on any links or attachments. Delete the email and phone us directly on 09 636 3332 if you are unsure whether it is genuine.
